WONDERFUL Weekend!

So it was a wonderful & busy weekend! First off we had family visit...Brandon, Staci, & Elyse (Brandon's girlfriend who we met for the first time!). She was great and I'm so glad we got to meet her before the wedding!:) The kids loved her and proabaly drove her crazy! So thanks to those 3 for coming and spending this special time with us! We really appreciate you being willing to travel that far for a short weekend! So, anyway back to why they came! On friday it was Rhett's 2nd birthday! I can't believe he's already 2! How time flies! Here's some pictures from his birthday.

So Excited!

Then Saturday was my oldest son Caleb's baptism! What a special day it was! It's hard to put into words how a parent feels when their child choses the right and wants to do what's right and follow their Savior! Needless to say it was an emotional day! Thanks to everyone from the ward who were able to attend as well and thanks to Uncle Brandon and Aunt Staci for their wonderful talks! Caleb was so excited for you to be there and be able to do that for him! Tony said that after Caleb was baptized and they were drying off and getting dressed he just kept saying "that was fun!" What a special boy we have and I am so proud of him!

Dad & Caleb

Of course it was Easter weekend as well and we were an hour late for our annual Easter Egg hunt at the park (we thought it started at 10:00, but apparently it was at 9:00) so we got our own stuff and had an Easter egg hunt at our house as a family! That was a lot of fun...especially the steamrolling the kids got from Elyse! Forgot to get the camera and take pictures!:( Would have loved to had some pictures of that to show everyone!:) We also dyed some eggs...what a mess...half of Rhett's leg was blue by the time we were finished! But the kids had fun and that's what matter right!? Anyway, it was a wonderful weekend! I'm so thankful for my family, the gospel, and my Savior. Missed you Mom & Dad! We love you!

Blessings!

My parents who are serving a mission right now in South Africa have told their children to look for the blessing that they receive because of Dad & Mom (Grandpa & Grandma)serving a mission. Well needless to say there have been plenty! But I think I have discovered the greatest blessing they have given me because of their service.
My son Caleb is going to be baptized this Saturday. I am having a harder time than I ever thought I would knowing that his Grandparents would not be able to be there. For Caleb's birthday Grandpa & Grandma sent him the coolest scripture case. It is made of Giraffe! They also sent a picture of some giraffes that they had taken with the sweetest message on the back telling Caleb that every time he looks at his scriptures to be reminded that he will also be able to serve his Heavenly Father on a mission when he turns 19.
Caleb was so excited for his scriptures and wanted to show his primary teacher, our neighbors, the bishop (pretty much everyone)them. Well, he showed it to one of the couselors in the bishopric before sacrament meeting started and Bro. Kinderknecht looked at me and said, "this is why Grandparents should serve missions!" I have the most wonderful parents who have helped me and Tony as parents instill in Caleb the desire to live righteously so that when he turns 19 he too can serve his Heavenly Father. So no matter how hard of a time I'm having (and it's probably just me...I don't think Caleb's too worried about it!) I am so thankful and appreciative for my wonderful parents who are serving our Heavenly Father and helping bestow blessings upon my family through their obedience.
I love you Dad & Mom! Thank you for always thinking of your children & grandchildren in all that you do!

Eli's take on General Conference!

So I think Eli listened to maybe 10 minutes of Genenral Conference this whole last weekend, but he did get something out of it! During Elder Oaks talk in the Afternoon session on Sunday Elder Oaks talked about the couple that had a dog instead of kids because a dog doesn't talk back and you don't have to ground it. That's the part that Eli caught, and for the next 10 minutes about every 30 seconds he would come up with something that he found funny about that part of Elder Oaks talk. He laughed so hard...and decided that they shouldn't have a dog either because then they wouldn't get to go on vacations either (our reasoning for why we don't have any animals). He also said that it's good that dogs can't play the playstation & computer so they won't get grounded (which happens to our boys when they spend too much time on the computer or playstation...they get grounded from it!) And he just kept laughing and saying how silly that was...I'll have to admit I don't know how the rest of Elder Oaks talk went because I was too interested in what Eli was saying and enjoying watching him get a kick out of that! Glad he got something out of conference!:)

All is good!

Just so everyone knows--I was able to watch the ER finale on-line...all is good!:)

BOO HOO HOO!

I can't tell you how dissappointed I am that I missed ER tonight! (It's probably pretty pathetic that I have been so addicted to it since it first started...but hey!) I was planning on relaxing and having a good cry when I went upstairs, but instead I found the TV broken--and 3 different theories from the kids about how it happened! I thought I would be ok because I have the DVR set to record it, but for some reason it wasn't recording when I went in to check on it. Hopefully I will be able to watch the full episode online sometime soon, but I was so excited to watch it tonight and now am depressed that I'll have to wait (this will really try my patience!) I loved this show and hate to see it end, but it also will free up my Thursday night-which will be a good thing!
